Are you passionate about low-level embedded software and looking to play a central role in the development of communication solutions for high-tech meters? Are you ready to challenge existing software solutions for our smart meters with new perspectives? Do you want to join an experienced team in a highly innovative company?

Become a part of Radio Frequency (RF) Communication

Kamstrup is a Danish technology company and a world-leading supplier of intelligent metering solutions and services. We experience a significant demand for our products, solutions, and services, and we have a strong focus on developing the most innovative and value-adding intelligent metering solutions and services for energy- and water consumption. We are proud that we in 2022 were awarded the innovation prize by Dansk Industri (DI), which further fueled our ambition to transform meter data into insights that will help utilities optimize the production and distribution of clean water and energy.

With direct reference to the Head of RF Communication, you will become part of our RF Technology group, which is responsible for the development of our high-tech wireless communication solutions for water and energy utilities around the world. Within RF Technology, the Embedded Software team consists of 14 competent and self-driven colleagues. The team is characterized by an open culture with high team spirit and a can-do attitude. Together, we strive towards developing and optimizing communication for our smart meters and low-level infrastructure components.

A job with focus on challenges and teamwork

As an Embedded Software Developer for Wireless Communication, you will work in project teams with stakeholders on all organizational levels to support our large portfolio of RF products all based on our robust embedded software. You will be designing and maintaining RF-based products primarily within the area of Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN).

More specifically, the position will include:

  • Low level embedded software development in C or C++ with an object-oriented mindset, both with and without an OS
  • Communication protocols/standards and protocol stack development within the LPWAN domain
  • Hardware-based programming and measurements on low-power MCUs with an understanding of digital electronics
  • Unit tests in C/C++ and developing test scripts in Python
  • Built-in secure communication that is part of our products; hence security knowledge will be an asset

You are fluent in English – both oral and written. Danish is an advantage.

Personality matters

We are looking for a candidate who gets motivated when generating results, and therefore has a proactive mindset while always seeking challenges. We imagine that you have an educational background in electrical engineering or software engineering. Whether you have a few years of experience or are newly graduated is not crucial, but it is important that you are driven by a genuine interest in software development, master the foundations within the field of embedded software development in C/C++, and focus on the final product.

As a person you are self-driven and eager to participate in developing future Kamstrup products. You thrive in a collaborative environment where knowledge-sharing and sparring is part of your everyday both internally in your own team but also with stakeholders on all organizational levels. Moreover, you see opportunities and get energy from challenging existing solutions to create business value and achieve the best results.

We offer more than just a job

As an Embedded Software Developer for Wireless Communication Solutions, you will join an international and innovative company that strives every day to optimize the needs for regulating the world’s energy- and water consumption and balancing the production. You will become part of a department that promotes personal and professional growth where you will receive responsibility, freedom to act, and ample opportunity for sparring with experienced colleagues.
